KY039 Finger Detection Heartbeat Measuring Sensor Module
Utilizing both an infrared (IR) LED and a phototransistor, the KY039 Finger Detection Heartbeat Measuring Sensor Module is able to accurately detect the pulse of the finger. As a result, the detection process is indicated by a flashing red LED with each pulse.
The LED and phototransistor are positioned on opposite sides of the finger. The phototransistor is responsible for detecting the emitted flux, which changes slightly as the blood pressure pulse passes through the finger.
To achieve optimal sensitivity, we opted for a high resistance resistor (R1) as the majority of light passing through the finger is absorbed. Through experimentation, the ideal resistance can be determined to produce optimal results. It is essential to safeguard against stray light entering the phototransistor.
In terms of home lighting, it is crucial to note that the majority of household lights operate on either 50Hz or 60Hz, which can cause significant interference with faint heartbeats.
Characteristics of KY039 Finger Detection Heartbeat Measuring Sensor:
- Utilize an IR LED in conjunction with an optical transistor to identify pulsation in the fingers.
- Compact and Tiny module
- User-friendly.
