Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ with 1GB RAM

The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is the latest product in the Raspberry Pi 3 line, featuring a 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.4GHz, dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.2/BLE, faster Ethernet, and PoE capability via a separate PoE HAT.

The key component responsible for the compact size and impressive performance of this computer is the Broadcom BCM2837. This ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit Quad-Core Processor System-on-Chip operates at 1.4GHz. The GPU offers features such as OpenGL ES 2.0, hardware-accelerated OpenVG, and 1080p30 H.264 high-profile decoding. It boasts a capacity of 1Gpixel/s, 1.5Gtexel/s, or 24 GFLOPs for general computing tasks. In simpler terms, once the Raspberry Pi 3 model B+ is connected to your HDTV, you can enjoy Blu-ray quality video playback at a speed of up to 40MBits/s with the H.264 format.

The Raspberry Pi 3 model B+ comes equipped with four USB ports, providing ample connectivity for a variety of devices such as a mouse or keyboard. However, if you require even more ports, a USB hub can be used. It is important to note that using a powered hub is recommended to prevent any strain on the onboard voltage regulator. To power the Raspberry Pi 3 B, simply plug in a 5V/2.5A USB power supply into the micro USB port – no power button is needed as it will automatically boot once powered on. When you’re ready to turn it off, shut down the Pi 3 B and remove the power supply. Additionally, each of the four built-in USB ports can output up to 1.2A, allowing for connection of higher-powered devices.

In addition, the Raspberry Pi’s low-level peripherals make it a great device for hardware hacking. Each pin on the GPIO header is identical to those of its predecessor, the Model 3, which has 27 GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI, as well as 3.3 and 5V sources. If you are planning to use a NOOBS card with the RPi3 B, please ensure it is up to date!

A modular compliance certification is provided with the dual-band wireless LAN board, allowing it to be integrated into end products with significantly reduced wireless LAN compliance testing, reducing both cost and time to market. As with both Raspberry Pi 2 Model B and Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ has the same mechanical footprint.

Many Raspberry Pi users have more than one single-board computer at home because they have more than one Raspberry Pi since it was released in early 2012.

A multimedia player with an external hard drive can be used for home cinema or an Internet radio, while another can be used as a webcam server to stream live video surveillance to mobile phones. In addition, there could be one for home automation, such as controlling lighting and heating, and another for wireless printing or general web surfing, just to name a few typical application scenarios.

Besides being extremely versatile, this amazing little computer is also extremely inexpensive, which is why it is so attractive to many people. Programming skills are useful, but not absolutely necessary, as a wealth of programming aids are available in forums and books at“ don’t be afraid to try!
