ADXL345 Module
The ADXL345 Module is a compact and energy-efficient sensor that measures acceleration in three directions. It has an impressive resolution of 13 bits and can detect forces of up to ±16g. The data is presented in a 16-bit twos complement format and can be accessed via an SPI or I2C digital interface, offering versatility in communication options.
The ADXL345 Module is ideal for use in mobile devices. It accurately measures both static and dynamic accelerations, making it perfect for tilt-sensing and detecting motion or shock. With a high resolution of 4 mg/LSB, it can even detect small inclination changes of less than 1.0°.
Various sensing functions are included, such as activity and inactivity detection which can sense motion and acceleration beyond a user-set threshold on any axis. The device also has the ability to detect single and double taps through tap sensing, as well as detecting free-fall situations. These functions can be assigned to either of the two interrupt output pins. Additionally, a built-in 32-level first-in, first-out (FIFO) buffer is available for data storage, reducing the need for frequent involvement from the host processor.
By utilizing low power modes, intelligent motion-based power management can be achieved with threshold sensing and active acceleration measurement, all while minimizing power dissipation.
