HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor Module

Characteristics:

The automatic induction feature activates when a person enters its limits, triggering a high level response. Upon leaving the sensor range, there is a delay before the high response turns off and the output becomes low.

HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor designated for location has the option of photosensitive control, allowing it to be adjusted for strong daytime light or no induction at all. Please note that the factory does not include a photosensitive resistor, but one can be purchased separately and installed if needed.

There are two trigger modes available: L, which is not repeatable, and H, which is repeatable. These can be chosen using a jumper, with the default selected as H.

The non-repeatable trigger mode causes the induction output to switch from high to low automatically once the delay time has passed.

In the repeated trigger mode, the output will remain high during the delay time if the human body is within its sensing range. It will only change to a low level once the person has left after the delay, which starts from the last detected activity of the human body. HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor automatically initiates a delay time for every instance of activity by the human body.

The induction blocking time, which is set to 3-4 seconds by default, allows for a brief pause after each sensing output (when the high level goes low). During this time, HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor will not receive any sense signals. This feature is useful for creating a designated interval between sensing outputs and can be utilized in products that require interval detection. Additionally, it effectively minimizes interference caused by load switching.

The default operating voltage for this device ranges from DC5V to 20V, providing a wide range of options.

Micro-power electrical products with a quiescent current of 65 microamps are highly suitable for use with dry batteries.

The high-level signal output can easily achieve docking using various types of circuits.

Usage directions:

HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor will come on after one minute from initialization, during which it will output 0-3 times a minute. After a minute, it will enter the standby mode.

It is important to steer clear of light and any other potential sources of interference near the lens module, as this can cause signal issues and lead to malfunctions. Whenever possible, try to minimize environmental elements that could cause disruption.

Unobstructed air movement can disrupt the sensor’s function.

HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor module contains a dual-element probe with a rectangular window. This probe has a longer side at both ends, represented by elements A and B. As the body moves from left to right…

Moving across the infrared spectrum in a right-to-left motion, the dual time and distance measurement increases sensitivity. As the difference between the two measurements grows, so does the detection capability. Specifically, when an object approaches the probe from its frontal direction.

Whether it is facing upwards or downwards, the dual element cannot sense changes in infrared distance and will not function properly. Therefore, HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor must be positioned in a way that the probe’s direction aligns parallel to human movement, ensuring detection when someone passes through.

HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor utilizes a circular lens to expand the sensing angle limits of dual-element induction. This feature makes all four sides of the probe sensitive, with the exception of the left and right sides that remain unaffected.

When installing, it is essential to follow the necessary requirements to ensure proper sensitivity in both the upper and lower directions of the two induction limits.

It is imperative to take note of the following aspects:

The DC voltage needs to fulfill our specifications. Excessive high or low levels can impact the module’s functioning. The power supply must also be equipped with a reliable regulator filter, such as a computer USB power source or a mobile phone charger. Old 9V stacked batteries are not suitable for the module’s operation. We suggest using a power transformer and a three-terminal voltage regulator, followed by filtering through 220UF and 0.1UF capacitors.

Even when not directly in front of the module, the human body’s proximity can still trigger the sensor output. Additionally, any contact with the circuit during debugging can also impact the module’s functioning. To ensure accuracy, try covering the module with a newspaper and monitoring its output using an LED or multimeter. Then, wait for 2 minutes after someone exits the room to see if there is still a signal from the module.

One possible rephrased version could be:

  • The human body sensor module is intended for indoor use only and should not be exposed to direct sunlight or strong light. If there is significant RF interference in the work setting, shielding measures may be necessary. To minimize air interference, it is recommended to keep doors and windows closed or prevent air flow. Additionally, HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor should not face heating appliances or objects prone to windblown debris and articles of clothing.
  • It is advisable to install the human body sensor module in an enclosed box, as failure to do so may result in an output signal.
  • If the angle of detection for the body sensor module is below 90 degrees, one option is to use opaque adhesive tape to block the lens or trim the lens in order to achieve the desired angle.
  • The dual-element probe of the human body sensor module is closely connected to the movement direction, sensitivity, and characteristics of the infrared module. However, it cannot effectively control the distance.
  • The HC-SR501 Bracket for PIR Motion Detector Sensor has the option of being mounted on the opposite side of the circuit board. Additionally, it can be extended using a two-core shielded cable, with a maximum length of 20 cm.
