MAX98357 I2S 3W Class D Amplifier
The MAX98357 I2S 3W Class D Amplifier board is ideal for use with Raspberry Pi. It takes in digital audio via the I2S interface, changes it to analog and boosts the signal for easy connection to speakers. This convenient board combines both an I2S D/A converter and an audio amplifier in one compact unit.
MAX98357 I2S 3W Class D Amplifier module boasts a surprisingly strong output of 3.2W on 4? impedance speakers. Its class D design supports a voltage range of 2.7 V – 5.5 V, making it ideal for both mobile and battery-powered projects thanks to its high efficiency.
The I2S audio input accommodates both 3.3V and 5V levels. Using the gain input, the gain can be adjusted to values of 3dB, 6dB, 9dB, 12dB and 15dB.
The output signal is usually a mix of the stereo signals (L R) by default. However, it is possible to alter this behavior by using a resistor to output only L or R.
