4.5-inch Flex Sensor
A 4.5-inch flex sensor measures the deflection or bending of a surface by varying its resistance. It is typically adhered to the surface and as it is bent, the resistance increases. The metal pads located on the bend side cause the resistance of the sensor to change.
Notable characteristics of 4.5-inch flex sensor:
- The length of Flex is 4.5 inches.
- Straightforward building techniques
- The default resistance of prolonged flex is lower.
- “Durable and sturdy”
- Effective measurement is a key factor in determining success.
- The conductive film used for sensing purposes
- Carbon, being a conductive element, serves as the main component.
- A substrate with good adhesion and no defects.
The steps for this process are as follows
- The flex sensor’s design excels in its form-factor on a thin and flexible substrate.
- Initially, the default resistance value of the sensor is 9k ohm.
- When the sensor is bent at a smaller angle of 45 degrees, there is a slight rise in the resistance value, reaching up to 10k ohm.
- After bending the sensor to a 90 degree angle, its resistance value increases even more to 12k ohm.
- As the angle of bending increases, so does the resistance in a gradual manner.
Various uses of 4.5-inch Flex Sensor:
- The measurement of angle displacement.
- Physically contorts and adapts using motion technology.
- The potential applications for robotics extend beyond just traditional industrial uses. With the constantly evolving technology, there is also a growing demand for gaming-related purposes, such as virtual motion experiences.
- Devices used in the medical field
- Other devices that can be connected to a computer.
- A variety of musical instruments can be found in orchestras and bands, each adding their own unique sound to the ensemble. From percussion to strings, woodwinds to brass, these instruments play a vital role in creating beautiful music. Whether strummed, blown, or struck, they all contribute to the overall harmony of a piece.
