The 5MP IR Night Vision Cam Module For Pi is a specially designed add-on that connects to the board via one of its two small sockets. This interface utilizes the dedicated CSI interface, specifically created for camera interfacing. The CSI bus can handle high data rates and is solely responsible for transmitting pixel data.

To establish a connection with the Raspberry Pi, a flexible ribbon cable is used. This cable then links the camera to the Pi’s BCM2835 processor through the CSI bus, which allows for a faster transmission of pixel data from the camera to the processor. Essentially, the bus travels through the same ribbon cable that attaches the camera board to the Pi.
