Description

ACS712 Current Sensor Module

The ACS712 Current Sensor Module, with a 5A range, is equipped with a precise Hall circuit that has a low offset and linear design. Its copper conduction path is strategically placed near the surface of the die. When current flows through this path, it creates a magnetic field that the Hall IC converts into a corresponding voltage.

Monitoring and regulating the flow of current is essential in a vast range of uses, such as over-current protection systems, charging batteries, operating switching mode power supplies, tracking wattage usage digitally, and programming current outputs.

This ACS721 module utilizes the ACS712 sensor to precisely measure both AC and DC currents.

The detected current can reach a maximum of 5A, whether AC or DC, and can be read through the Arduino’s analog I/O port.

Please read the following instructions carefully for proper understanding.

  • Please note that the color of the product may vary during shipping. Thank you for understanding.
  • We are providing two additional modules that use the ACS712 IC for current measurement. These modules are listed below.
  • The ACS712 Range Current Sensor Module, or simply the ACS712, is a device designed to measure current levels within a specific range.
  • The 30A Range Current Sensor Module ACS712 is a device designed for measuring electrical current within a range of 30 amps.

Take note:

The fundamental concept behind ACS712 is the Hall test. Be sure to utilize this field in order to prevent any potential impact.

Key characteristics of ACS712 Current Sensor Module:

  • An analog signal path that produces minimal noise.
  • The new FILTER pin allows for the adjustment of device bandwidth.
  • The output rise time for step input current is -5 µs.
  • Compact form factor and low-profile design in an SOIC8 package.
  • The minimum isolation voltage from pins 1-4 to pins 5-8 is at least 2.1 kV RMS.
  • Operating at a single-supply voltage of -5.0 V.
  • The output sensitivity ranges from 66 to 185 mV/A.
  • The voltage produced is directly proportional to either AC or DC currents.
  • Precisely calibrated at the factory for utmost precision.
  • Highly consistent offset voltage output.
  • Almost non-existent magnetic hysteresis.
  • The output from the supply voltage using a ratiometric measurement.
