Heartbeat Sensor using Arduino (Heart Rate Monitor)

HEART BEAT SENSOR:

DESCRIPTION:
Heart beat sensor is designed to give digital output of heat beat pulses. When the heart beat detector is working, the LED in the sensor flashes with respect to each heart beat. The digital output can be connected to microcontroller directly to measure the Beats Per Minute (BPM) rate. It works on the principle of light modulation by blood flow through finger at each pulse.

CONNECTION STEPS:
-Initially 5V power supply is given to the heart beat sensor.
-When a tip of a forefinger is placed over the sensor, the LED flashes continuously with respect to the heart pulses.
-The output pin is connected to any of the I/O pins of the microcontroller for viewing the heart beat rate in Beats Per Minute (BPM).
