AT24C256 EEPROM Memory Module
This AT24C256 EEPROM Memory Module is ideal for data storage on Arduino. Though the ATmega chip on Arduino has its own EEPROM memory, it is limited in capacity. Therefore, utilizing this external EEPROM is a straightforward solution for storing data on Arduino.
Our team has developed an external AT24C256 EEPROM memory module that utilizes the I2C bus line for connection to Arduino. The pluggable chip allows for easy expansion of capacity, simply by inserting a larger EEPROM chip. This storage module is specifically designed for use with AT24C series EEPROM chips, each with a capacity of 256K bits or 32k bytes. Communication between the EEPROM module and Arduino is facilitated through the I2C interface, and we recommend pairing it with the Arduino-Sensor-Shield-V4.0 and the Arduino-I2C-COM-Cable for optimal performance.
EEPROM, short for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory, is a secondary storage device that retains data even when disconnected from power. This module is ideal for those seeking additional storage space for their project or looking to familiarize themselves with EEPROM. It offers an extra 256k byte capacity and can be easily wired via I2C for use.
Included in the description are key components:
- Installation of AT24C256 chip onto the -8P seat.
- On-board power indicator, powered by a pin.
- A pull-up resistor is necessary for I2C communications.
- All pins are leads and labeled as address inputs, with direct jumper settings for write-protection.
