EM 18 RFID MODULE :
EM 18 RFID module is one of the commonly used module for radio frequency identification projects. It features Low Cost, Small Size, Low Power Consumption and Easy to use. It can be directly interfaced with microcontrollers using UART communication. The EM 18 RFID module generates and radiates RF Carrier Signals of frequency 125 KHz through its coils. When a 125 KHz passive RFID Tag is brought in to this field, will get energized from it.
FEATURES:
- Working frequency: 125khz
- Working Voltage: DC 3.3V – 5V
- Working Current: 19mA – 25mA
- Compact size and cost-effective.
- Low power consumption
- Reader and tag with antenna coils.
- Magnetic dipole antenna
PROCEDURE:
- The EM 18 RFID module works on the principle of electromagnetic induction.
- The module consists of coil which produces electromagnetic force to detect the card.
- The coil within the tag will have a chip enclosed with which has a hexadecimal code.
- For card detection response, a buzzer is used. This is driven by a PNP transistor connected at the buzzer pin of the reader.
- LED will blink along with the buzzer.
APPLICATIONS:
- Commerce
- Transportation and logistics
- Infrastructure management and protection
- Passports
- Transportation payments
- Animal identification
- Human identification
- Tracking of goods
