  GT-24 digital wireless module

The GT-24 digital wireless module is an industrial grade device that operates at a frequency of 2.4G and has a built-in NRF24L01 PA LNA, allowing for long distance communication of up to 1100 meters.

The product is compatible with two interface options: the chip type and the pin solder type. As a default setting, the pin is included but not pre-soldered. It provides support for 51 STM8S STM32 arduino and other development boards using microcontrollers.

The GT-24 digital wireless module is a fully integrated data transmission solution for 2.4GHz frequencies with a power output of 100mW and a high-speed capability of up to 2Mbps. It boasts exceptional stability and is designed for industrial use. Equipped with a high-performance PCB antenna, precise impedance matching, and the reliable nRF24L01P RF chip, this module offers unparalleled quality compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the built-in RFX2401 power amplifier chip includes an LNA with a receiving sensitivity of 10dBm, operating in the 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz ISM band. With ample transmission strength, excellent spectral characteristics, minimal harmonics and channel interference, plus an ultra-compact design, this module delivers top-of-the-line performance.

The standard model utilized in the industry features a 2.54mm in-line interface and a 1.27mm patch interface, providing convenient access to various circuits. Moreover, the GT-24 digital wireless module boasts both a built-in PCB antenna and an ipx external antenna, significantly improving its range capabilities.

Introducing the driving method:

GT-24 digital wireless module in question, the nRF24L01P PA LNA, utilizes the same driving method as the nRF24L01P. As such, users can refer to the chip manual of the nRF24L01P for operation instructions.

The CE pin serves as a connection to the LNA enable pin, allowing for control over the LNA’s on and off states. This functionality mirrors that of the nRF24L01’s transmit and receive modes, eliminating the need for the user to monitor LNA operation.

To ensure optimal functioning, it is advisable to link the CE to the IO port of the microcontroller unit while writing to the register. While the CE can remain connected for extended periods, it is crucial to set the module to POWER DOWN shutdown mode in such instances.

Instead of using the IRQ, the SPI Query mode can be utilized to retrieve interrupt status. It is advisable, however, to utilize an external interrupt provided by the microcontroller.

As stated in the nRF24L01P technical manual, the CE pin timing operation of the module can reach up to 10us. However, we suggest modifying it to this: SPI sets CE to high until the transmission interrupt is finished, then remains high for 1mS before lowering CE. This allows for a quick transition into receive mode after sending the GT-24 signal. Keeping CE at 0 will turn off the LNA and decrease receiving sensitivity.

Please be advised that the grounding should be optimal and the laying area spacious. Additionally, it is recommended to add filter capacitors in close proximity to both the VCC and GND pins of the module to minimize power supply ripple.
