The MMA9555L 3 axis acceleration sensor module is a smart pedometer that expands upon the capabilities of the MMA955xL sensor platform. It is equipped with a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer, signal conditioning, data conversion, and a 32-bit microcontroller. This advanced sensor offers features such as pedometer tracking, activity level monitoring, and six directional orientation detection.

By combining sensor initialization, calibration, data compensation, and computation functions, the CPU bandwidth required for the system application processor is reduced. Consequently, overall power consumption is greatly decreased as the application processor can remain shut down until necessary. Additionally, this device offers an optional autosleep/autowake feature for added convenience.
