MyoWare Muscle Sensor
Rather than using traditional methods of using our muscles to control objects, what if we could eliminate the need for buttons, levers and joysticks? The MyoWare Muscle Sensor by Advancer Technologies offers a solution. This Arduino-powered device serves as an all-in-one electromyography (EMG) sensor, measuring the filtered and rectified electrical activity of a muscle to output varying voltages depending on its level of activity. Simply attach the included electrodes and read the voltage output to control objects using your muscles.
Introducing the MyoWare Muscle Sensor – a revamped version of its predecessor, complete with an innovative wearable design. Say goodbye to tangled cables as this new board allows you to directly attach biomedical sensor pads onto it. Along with this convenient update, the board boasts a range of fresh features such as a single-supply voltage of 3.1V to 5V, RAW EMG output, polarity protected power pins, and indicator LEDs. And finally, an added On/Off switch for ease of use. To further elevate the versatility and functionality of the MyoWare Muscle Sensor, we have also created compatible shields (Cable, Power, and Proto).
Electromyography (EMG) is a method of measuring muscle activity by detecting its electric potential. Its traditional use has been in medical research.
