The SHT-10 Soil Moisture Sensor measures both soil moisture and humidity, as well as temperature.

Upgrade your gardening project with a SHT-10 soil Moisture sensor. This sensor features a temperature and humidity module from Sensiron, housed in a weatherproof sinter metal mesh casing. The casing allows for air to pass through, enabling the sensor to measure soil moisture without being damaged by water. While it can be submerged in water, extended periods (over 1 hour) of submersion should be avoided. For longer submersion needs, consider using a different sensor. Alternatively, the sensor can also be placed outdoors for exterior weather sensing purposes.

The humidity and temperature readings have a precision of 4.5% and 0.5%, respectively. An interface with a microcontroller is necessary. SHT-10 Soil Moisture Sensor must be rehydrated according to the datasheet guidelines after reflow, without requiring washing first.

The sensor, a Sensiron SHT-10 model, can effectively function with any SHT-1X code designed for microcontrollers. It is compatible with 3 or 5V logic and comes with a 1-meter cable consisting of four wires extended for ease of use.

VCC, also known as 3-5VDC, is represented by the color red.

Ground can be either black or green.

The color blue is associated with the concept of time, specifically in the form of a clock.

Arduino users can take advantage of the convenient Sensiron library, complete with an example. Propeller users, on the other hand, have access to a sensor object specifically designed for the SHT1X. Just be sure to remember to connect a 10K resistor from the Data line (marked in blue) to VCC for proper functionality.
