The Teensy 4.0 USB Development Board boasts a lightning-fast ARM Cortex-M7 processor running at 600 MHz, powered by the unmatched NXP iMXRT1062 chip. This exceptional microcontroller offers unprecedented speed, easily surpassing its predecessor, the Teensy 3.2 by ten times! Its unique ‘cross-over’ design combines the capabilities of both a microcontroller and a microcomputer, providing ample flash, RAM, and processing power for handling massive amounts of data. Furthermore, it comes equipped with two full-speed USB ports and even incorporates a graphics processor. And all of this is available for the modest price of two sawbucks.

Operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, Teensy 4.0 requires an estimated 100 mA of current.

Teensy 4.0 allows for dynamic clock scaling, without the usual problems that arise with traditional microcontrollers when changing the clock speed. The combination of Teensy 4.0 hardware and Teensyduino’s software supports Arduino timing functions, ensuring that serial baud rates, audio streaming sample rates, and other functions such as delay() and millis() work seamlessly even when the CPU speed changes. Additionally, specialized features like IntervalTimer and elapsedMillis offered by Teensyduino also function properly during speed changes.

Additionally, Teensy 4.0 USB Development Board offers a convenient power shut off function. This action can be triggered by connecting a pushbutton to the On/Off pin and holding it for 5 seconds. To turn the supply back on, simply press the button briefly.
